Engineering / Industrial Design

Metropolis Torcher
This is one of my first lighting designs. With a background in Mechanical and Industrial design I can conceive, engineer and manufacture prototypes of my product designs. The lamp stands 6'5" tall and utilizes a halogen light source at the base of the torcher. The light projects upwards to the refractory lens at the top
Razor desk lamp
An interesting lighting project. This design allows rotation of the lamp housing about it's long axis, directing light forwards or backwards. However, if you mount it vertically it can be used to "wash" a wall with light. It can also be mounted under-cabinet.
Ron Rezek Designed Torcher
One of my favorite clients is Ron Rezek Design. Typical of this client relationship, I take his sketches and engineer a manufacturable product. This particular lamp required casting, extrusion, stamping and machining processes.
Stratos Ceiling Fan

Another Ron Rezek Designed product. A ceiling fan for the Beverly Hills Fan Co. Again, I worked from his sketches and created engineered drawings for overseas manufacturing. The fans utilizes aluminum die castings, extrusions and stamped components.

The following pieces of furniture were designed and fabricated by me. The table is natural black slate cantilevered
from the wall. Its base is faux concrete of my own formulation. The stove features a Thermador cook top set in a Birch bezel.
The glass bricks along the top back are lighted. The opening allows for wheelchair clearance. The "pin-up" lamp is an inexpensive and
safe lighting fixture. Pushing or pulling the ball at the end adjusts the spread of the light from the top opening.

Highspeed Printers
Dataproducts Corp.is where I began my career as a mechanical designer. The products shown to the right were in their line of highspeed impact printers. I was on the new development and cost reduction teams during my 9 years at Dataproducts.
Aphex, LTD. Signal Processing Equipment
At Aphex, LTD. we used a desktop PC and a CADD program called - of all things, RoboCAD! Product packaging consists mainly of sheet metal and anodized aluminum. Graphics for the entire product line was created by traditional means.
