Even the Ducati ST series can be improved!
Relocate your turn signals for a much cleaner look.

Several members of the ST2 Owners newsgroup have made similar modifications
to their bikes and have inspired me to make my own modifications.

The turn signals are modified so that they can be mounted closer inboard.

This is the stock configuration
of the turn signal.

Yet, they are far enough rearward to be very visible even with the hard cases mounted.

Note the length of the pannier mounting support. It has been cut back, end cap reused, and bumper moved to it's new position.

Be sure to blow out any metal shavings that may fall into the support bracket.

The first step is to remove the turn signal from the supports.

Disassemble and remove the cables completely.

With a saw cut the angle as shown. Be sure not to cut so deep that it falls apart.

Close up showing the finished turn signal in it's new mounting location.
It must be noted that this modification may make your signals violate DOT laws regarding the mounting of turn signals. And while the panniers mount securely - it no longer meets the manufacturer's design specifications and thus no guarantee can be made as to their integrity (although the bike has been over 115MPH with the bags on and no visible damage).   However, do these modifications at your own risk!
