Ever want more lighting for your ST4 Ducati?
But, where do you mount them?

A simple design application for the 3ASpeedPro 55 Watt Halogen Spot Lamps

The photo shows the new location for the lamps. American Auto Accessories, Inc. imports this pair of tiny driving spot lamps.

As you can see in the photo to the right, they sit neatly up under the fairing. These lamps have been mounted with only 2-1/4 inches height.

Although, they look precariously close to the front fender, realize that they will touch the fender only if the steering is turned and the forks are very compressed. I have yet to see any touching of the lamps to the fender.

Just be sure that they are mounted as wide as possible.

As for the wiring. It is pretty simple. The standard fuse housing on the Duc is located on the left side under the plastic cockpit cover.

Pull the fuse box up to access the underside. The last three fuses are not live. The 'Hot' lead from the lamps will go to one of these connectors. The other side of the fused connector will need a short lead to the second from the top fuse slot (use the left side lead). This fuse is live only when the lights are on. Check it with a voltage meter and with the fuse out.

The supplied U-Bracket will fit nicely if you make two small cuts into the middle fairing piece. This allows the bracket to slide in and the lamps to be tucked up high. There are spacers under the bracket so that the lamps are mounted up high.

I found these lamps at Pep Boys for about $30.
Look for the 3A Speed Pro 0300 Series Halogen Spot Lamps.

It comes with cast housings, coated glass lens, mounting brackets and cabling. You need to supply a switch however. If I can get a hold of the European headlight switch (for the left handlebar cluster) I'll use it instead.

With 55 Watts of Halogen light you'd think there would be more light - "but what do you want for 30 bucks!"

Actually, they do indeed make a big difference and IMHO worth it.
