Cool Must Have Programs
Delicious Library for the MAC
I went online to look for a simple program to catalog all of my DVD's. And I came across this really cool application called Delicious Library. When I started my search I had no idea such a program could be so much fun!
You can catalog your books, movies, music, software, toys (including board games), tools, electronics, & video games... and even your clothes and jewelry! Use the pre labeled categories or add your own.
Just hold the barcode from your book, product, DVD, or whatever to your iCAM or web cam and your item is displayed on a shelf in your library complete with picture of the actual item, description, current value, reviews, etc... Delicious Library 2 automatically gathers native details for scanned items from six different web stores around the world: The United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Delicious Library 2’s interface has been translated into many languages, and more are always being added.
It has no item limit. Delicious Library uses Apple's CoreData and CoreAnimation framework to instantly show icons and data on your entire library.
You can also add items manually. For example, older books do not have a barcode (most of my collectable books have no ISBN numbers at all). The built-in title search function is very competent and found many listings for the books I have giving me descriptions, current values, etc... Very nice.
I was surprised to find some of my DVD's and books are currently worth 10 times their original purchase price! Pretty cool.
There are so many great features, I can't list them all here. Check it out on their site.
