The historical perspective and comments by the best of the best designers give an unparalleled view into the art. The photographs by Victor are just beautiful.
	The Complete Serger Handbook Chris James Paperback  / Published 1998 Sterling Publications. ISBN 0-8069-9807-5 List Price: $16.95 Our Price: $13.56 You Save: $3.39 (20%)		Great for the new owner of a serging machine. It is a very complete book on the subject. A highly recommended book.
	Sewing With an Overlock (Singer Sewing Reference Library) Paperback / Published 1989 Creative Publishing International ISBN 0-8657-3248-5 List Price: $16.95 Our Price: $13.56 You Save: $3.39 (20%)		Although not as complete as the above book, it does offer many items to help you become a better sewer. The best parts of the book are the specific advice on potential problems.
	The Style Engine Giannino Malossi Paperback / Published 1998 Monacelli Press. ISBN 1-8852-5495-4 List: $50.00 Our Price: $40.00 You Save: $10.00 (20%)		I am not sure how to classify this book. A wide ranging book which at time seems to be a collection of articles from many different sources. Which is a good thing, in my mind. Some of the chapter titles will give you an idea of the content: "The Value of Style", "Creativity in the Fashion system", Fashion and the Spectacle." Worth checking out!
	Illustrating Fashion - Concept to Creation Steven Stipelman Hardback / Published 1996 Fairchild Publications. ISBN 1-5636-7080-1 Our Price: $50.00		I think this book is a great addition for the student learning fashion illustration techniques. It is an all-in-one book that covers most all aspects of fashion illustration. At over 400 pages it is packed with useful information.
	The Complete Book of Sewing by Deni Bown Hardcover / Published 1996 DK Publishing (Dorling Kindersley); ISBN: 0-7894-0419-2 List Price: $39.95 Our Price: $27.97 You Save: $11.98 (30%)		Unlike the "A Guide to fashion Sewing" below, this book is a wonderful reference book for the beginning sewer. It has lots of examples (seems like everything you could want) and it is well layed out. It covers the differences in sewing wovens and knits, and has a very nice section on fabric descriptions. Highly recommended.
	Christian Lacroix - The Diary of a Collection Patrick Mauries Hardback / Published 1996 Simon and Schuster Books ISBN: 0-6848-3259-3 List Price: $50.00 Our Price: $35.00 You Save: $15.00 (30%)		I just bought this book but, I can already recommend it as a must have for anyone interested in couture. It is a very detailed and revealing book on the working methods of Christian Lacroix. No other book follows the mind of a famous designer as he creates a collection the way this book does. It draws on Christians very own notes and scrapbook. Great book!

A Guide to Fashion Sewing by Connie Amaden-Crawford Paperback / Published August 1993 Fairchild Pubns; ISBN: 0-8700-5748-0 Our Price: $43.00		This book is here because it is one of my text books at fashion school. It cover most all of the techniques used in apparel production. No dimensions, no patterns, no color pictures. It is a basic methods book. But, if you know how to sew or make patterns then it is helpful and I can recommend it.
	Couture Sewing Techniques Claire B. Shaeffer Hardback / Published 1994 Taunton Press. ISBN 0-9423-9188-8 List: $39.95 Our Price: $27.97 You Save: $11.98 (30%)		This is the second book from Claire Shaeffer that I found to be very useful. It gives you a very detailed description of the methods and history of couture techniques. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to expand their understanding of manufacturing techniques as used by the masters of couture.
	Galliano Colin McDowell Hardback / Published 1997 Rizzoli International Publications Inc. ISBN 0-8478-2083-1 List: $60.00 Our Price: $42.00 You Save: $18.00 (30%)		John Galliano is my pick for idol of the decade! His Couture is the most romantic of the romantic. Mugler is too edgy, McQueen has recently come to a realization. But, Galliano exhibits soul in his designs. This is one of the most insightful books I have ever read. It really captures the essence of John galliano. And the photographs are as beautiful as they are plentiful.
	Visionaire's Fashion 2000 Stephen Gan Hardback / Published 1997 Universe Publishing. ISBN 0-7893-0102-4		From Visionaire, fashion's most courageous and inspired publisher, comes this essential survey of the generation of designers that guides fashion now and of the younger generation that will be taking fashion into the next millennium. More than 70 designers are profiled, including Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Christian Lacroix, Helmut Lang, and Marc Jacobs. 200 illustrations.
	Issey Miyake Mark Holborn Paperback / Published 1995 Taschen ISBN 3-8228-8874-5 List: $24.99 Our Price: $19.99 You Save: $5.00 (20%)		A great review of the work and style of Japan's Premier Designer of Couture and Ready to Wear - Issey Miyake. I found it to be quite an insight into his methods and an inspiration to me as a designer (in training).
	Catwalk - Working With Models Lee Widdows and Jo McGuinness Paperback / Published 1996 BT Batsford Ltd. ISBN 0-7134-7700-8		The real scoop on the behind the scenes process of putting on a top quality fashion show. A  facinating look at the industry. Lee Widdows and Jo McGuinnessis are; a Senior Lecturer, and a visiting tutor respectively, for Centeral Saint Martins college of Art and Design in London.
	Dynamic Figure Drawing Burne Hogarth Hardback / Published 1996 Watson - Guptil ISBN 0-8230-1577-7 List: $19.95 Our Price: $15.96 You Save: $3.99 (20%)		Burne Hogarth is a master at illustrating characters. They are indeed dynamic. Although not a fashion illustrator his techniques will help the artist better understand and illustrate the musculature of the human body and create new poses.
	Color With Style Donna Fuji Paperback / Published 1991 Graphic-Sha Publishing. ISBN 4-7661-0641-5 List: $29.95 Our Price: $29.95		I like Donna's book as it breaks down the process of choosing wardrobe colors based on the skintone and hair color. It is a good reference library item.
	High Fashion Sewing Secrets Claire B. Shaeffer Hardback / Published 1997 Rodale Press ISBN 0-87596-717-5 List: $26.96 Our Price: $26.96		To be honest, this book is not for the beginner. However, if you are serious about sewing or fashion garment construction then I can wholeheartedly recommend it. In addition to the sewing tutorials, it tells you how to copy a garment and pattern making basics. I have used many of the techniques in my clothing.
	Fashion Illustrations 2 - Expressing Textures Kojiro Kumagai Paperback / Published 1988 Graphic-Sha Publishing. ISBN 4-7661-0483-8 List: $39.95 Our Price: $39.95		When I first started Fashion Design this was a valuable resource for learning how to render fabrics in various mediums. I have since defined my own style.
	Dynamic Wrinkles & Drapery Burne Hogarth Hardback / Published 1995 Watson - Guptil ISBN 0-8230-1587-4 List: $22.50 Our Price: $18.00 You Save: $4.50 (20%)		This another of Hogarth's great books. I can also recommend this for beginners.

ISBN 1-5649-6169-9		Having a background in commercial photography I learned alot about lighting and this book is quite inspirational with its lush and striking images of commercial spaces. Lots of pictures and descriptions.
	Sexy Robot Hajime Sorayama Paperback / Published 1983 Genko-Sha Publishing. ISBN 4-7683-0001-4		I think most animators are familiar with Sorayama's sexy robot illustrations. This is the book to have if you want your 3D female robot models to go beyond that typical homely look.
	The Gynoids Hajime Sorayama Paperback / Published 1994 Treville Publishing. ISBN 4-8457-0823-X List: $46.95 Our Price: $37.56 You Save: $9.39 (20%)		This large format paperback contains his most daring illustrations. Much of the focus is on S&M. But, no one does chrome better than Sorayama - and the full size images show incredible detail.

It covers all of the vehicles and creatures found in the movies. Many stills from the movie can be found along with illustrations, line drawings and excellent detailed text.

But, this large format, 300+ page book contains full page images - mostly orginal sketches. It is a treasure!
	The Animator's Workbook Tony White Paperback / Published 1986 Watson - Guptil ISBN 0-8230-0229-2 List: $18.95 Our Price: $15.16 You Save: $3.79 (20%)		I found this a while ago. It covers a wide range of techniques (traditional animation) that can be applied to your character animation work.
	The Illusion of Life - Disney Animation Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston Hardback / Published 1995 Hyperion Press ISBN 0-7868-6070-7 List: $60.00 Our Price: $42.00 You Save: $18.00 (30%)		This is the book that all animators must have. It is big and expensive but worth it's weight in gold as it gives the heart and soul of Walt Disney's vision.
	Toy Story: The Art and Making of the Animated Film John Lasseter and Steve Daly Hardback / Published 1995 Hyperion Press ISBN 0-7868-6180-0 List: $39.95 Our Price: $27.97 You Save: $11.98 (30%)		This is a fun book to have. I originally thought it was a childrens book (well, maybe it is). But, it does a good job of telling what Pixar went through to get the job done. It also has a reticulated full size 3D image on the cover! Pretty neat.
	Inside Out With Gadget Paperback / Published 1995 Fireside Publishing. ISBN 0-684-82396-9 List: $30.00 Our Price: $24.00 You Save: $6.00 (20%)		I assume we all have knowledge of the CD ROM game Gadget. "Inside Out with Gadget" is the story in print form. I for one, never got far enough in the game to see all of the incredible imagery as shown in this book. The image quality is superb as the 3D work is fantastic.
